How We Came to Be & Three Under Three
The idea of The Sleepy Thicket came when we realized we were going to need to make some life changes because, surprise, we were pregnant with our third, and yep you guessed it that would make three under three!
The idea of paying for three babies to go to daycare daily seemed crazy... in came the brains of Nicole and Brett to think up some awesome way for the family to still make an income while being able to have one parent at home with all these babies. Brett’s crazy entrepreneurial heart and Nicole’s passion for babies and all things pretty created this “Sleepy Thicket” where people could shop online in a tranquil setting for the little ones in their lives. Coming from sleep deprived parents we thought the name was quite fitting!
Once we decided on the business itself, and many long nights of name brainstorming, moving the business plan along was something we craved. We’ve had long long nights collecting data on which e-commerce platform to use and which vendors would be best suited for our clients. Some nights we’d finally be going to bed and one of the kids would just start crying to wake up for the night (teething and ear infections are zero fun in case anyone was wondering)...
Now that we’ve been getting slightly more consistent sleep (5 hours a night on average?) we decided we’re just crazy enough to announce this business of ours and get things moving “for real.” We can’t wait to share our brand design, merchandise, and all of our stories!
